Dr. Martin joined the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine of Dallas in 1993 and serves as clinical director of the Neuromuscular Center.

He received his medical degree in 1984 from Texas A&M College of Medicine and completed a rotating internship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock in 1985.

In 1988, Dr. Martin completed residency training in adult neurology at Parkland Hospital, The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Dallas. While at Parkland Hospital, he served as chief resident for one year. He continued postgraduate training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Boulder, where he completed a fellowship in neuromuscular disease in 1989.

Dr. Martin was board certified by the American Academy of Neurology in 1990 with an added Qualification in Neurophysiology in 1996. In addition, he is board certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Highly regarded for his background and clinical work in neurology and neuromuscular disease, Dr. Martin's current research focus is on neuromuscular limitations during exercise.
