In this condition, exercise can trigger muscle fatigue and weakness during and after exertion, with muscle soreness or cramping. Exertional myalgias may worsen steadily during intensive exercise in the legs and hands. Usual age on onset is early adulthood to middle age. Serum CK is normal or slightly elevated. Individuals with this disorder are often unable to achieve previous performance levels.
